Yesterday I was watering the front flowerbed and a newt came crawling about. It was so cute of course I had to pick it up gently, and get photos.

Man! How is it possible that I can still go to the local grocery store, and buy Chinese seafood? Sure it's cheap, but good god...have a tasty helping of banned carcinogens and veterinary drugs to go with that?

The squirrels are making a nest. They run around through the forest, find thin branches and strip the bark off in long, papery strips. Wad it up into a ball, and take it up to their nest.

The story of the Samaritan

Jesus and his followers were passing through the land of the Samaritans. His followers went into town to get supplies and Jesus was alone at Jacob's Well. A Samaritan woman came to get water from the well and he asked her for a drink. (She had a bucket.) She said, "Why are you even talking to me, I am a Samaritan...why are you asking me for a drink?" He said "You have water for me to drink, and I have the Water Everlasting. If you were to drink it you'd never be thirsty again, and what's more you'd be a wellspring to give this Everlasting Water to others."

Jesus as a sheep (but with a lion's mane) and a rough idea for a Samaritan (hyena?) Samaritans were considered to be society's dregs, according to our pastor.

Jesus is often referred to as a lamb, but he is often drawn as a lion. I thought of the time of his sacrifice drawing ever nearer, perhaps he would be transforming from a lion into a sheep (lamb).
